Maghe Sankrati
Every year 15th January is really a special day for the people of Terai who are Tharu. This day tharu people celebrate the festival by calling their relatives at their home and enjoy eating delicious foods. Tharu people take Maghe Sankrati as their new year. People who are abroad will receive a message from the family to come back to their village. Hindu people also celebrate this festival almost in the same way but it’s not the New Year for them. They also eat tasty and delicious food. The festival is celebrated beautifully all over Nepal. In the capital city Kathmandu the Gorkhas perform a wonderful programme. People come to see the programme.
