Kali Gandaki River is Nepal's second most popular rafting river with an exciting itinerary out of Pokhara. Raised in Mustang an enclave of Nepal poking into Tibet on the other side of the Himalayas it has beautiful unspoiled nature with excellent whitewater, gorges, natural setting as well. It's accepted for medium-length raft and kayak trip.

Kali Gandaki River is a flat and braided river, flowing in an arid open valley tumbles down between the majestic Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna ranges. It has shaped one of the world's deepest gorges. It offers spectacular Himalayan views along with natural beauty and incredible whitewater adventure.

Kali Gandaki with pleasant drops, radiant channels and chaotic rapids provides class 3 to 4+ runs throughout the fall and spring seasons. The Kali Gandaki is probably at its best for rafting at low and medium flows: mid October to the mid December and March to April. It's good idea to combine this whitewater trip with the popular area of Annapurna region.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1:Day 1
About 7 hours bus drive to Pokhara from Kathamandu. Pokhara sight seen and night stay at lake side.

Day 2:Day 2
About 3 hours drive from Pokhara to put-in point Nayapul having breakfast in lake side. At the put-in point team leader will make short briefing especially about safety, rapids and paddling. First day warm ups after lunch with class 3 rapids after couple of hours you will be encounter 2 big class 4 rapids. After reconnaissance rapids rafting starts following the safety kayaks. Passing through these two big rapids rafting team will reach the Modi Khola confluence where team will spend whole night in a camp.

Day 3:Day 3
After breakfast constant bumping into the rapids of Kali Gandaki starts from Modi Khola. Constant bumping on river rapids with adrenaline, calm and spectacular view of Annapurna I and Himchuli gives great satisfaction during the trip. Experience with class 3 and 4 rapids named REFUND, you will enjoy vines and lush vegetation hanging both side of river. Rafting paused at Purti Ghat with dinner and over night camping.

Day 4:Day 4
Early morning after breakfast bumping into the rapids starts from Purti Ghat to put-out point Mirmi. After being back into river we reach at the holy village of Seti Beni. At this point Kali Gandaki has made a confluence with small stream which is considered as great holy place for Nepalese Hindus. After passing this holy confluence trip put-outs reaching Mirmi. With religious, cultural as well as natural and Himalayan scenery the Kali Gandaki rafting concludes with thrilling experience of various class rapids. Team returns to Pokhara.
